Dumpster Rental Negative Keywords: What to Exclude
Dumpster rental negative keywords help exclude searches that do not fit the services you sell. Build the list around your own search terms and business model, not a blind copy-and-paste list.
Book a callReview these four kinds of searches
- Employment: searches such as “dumpster driver jobs” or “waste company careers” usually indicate a job seeker, not a renter.
- Equipment purchases: “used roll off truck for sale” and “buy a dumpster container” can indicate equipment buying.
- Research and DIY: “how to build a dumpster” or “dumpster drawing” may be unrelated to booking a rental.
- Services you do not offer: weekly household collection, hazardous-waste disposal, or junk removal may be irrelevant for a rental-only company. They may be valuable for a company that offers them.
Do not block useful words indiscriminately
“Cheap,” “price,” “cost,” and “near me” can appear in legitimate rental searches. “Concrete” can be valuable if you rent concrete containers. A competitor name may deserve a deliberate campaign decision rather than automatic exclusion. Keep the business context attached to each proposed negative.
Choose the scope and match type
Use account-wide lists only for exclusions that apply everywhere. Keep service-specific exclusions at the appropriate campaign or ad-group level. Negative broad, phrase, and exact match behave differently; review the intended block before saving. Negative keywords do not automatically cover close variants, so check relevant singular and plural forms.
A practical review routine
- Read the search term and its landing page.
- Decide whether your operation could fulfill that customer’s request.
- Compare qualified leads and bookings, not only clicks.
- Apply the narrowest exclusion that solves the problem.
- Review later search terms for missed variations and accidental exclusions.
